Your Having A Baby, How Wonderful

Whilst planning for the birth of a baby there are  important aspects to consider:

Who will be with you during labour.

Although most midwives would like to provide 100% continuous physical and emotional support it is not usually possible due to the amount of routine checks, paperwork, and other duties they are expected to do.

So why not have a Doula

A doula is a woman (usually a mother herself) who works as a birth companion she is employed by you to give support and be a friend to you your partner and family before during and after birth.

The  main role of the doula is to see to whatever individual needs a woman has surrounding the birth of her baby.

Research has shown that having continuous support during labour provided by a doula can:

Reduce labour time by an average of 25%;

make it 60% less likely to need an epidural;

30% less likely to need other pain relief;

40% less likely to need forceps;

50% less likely to have a Cesarean section.
